Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Here you can find answers to the most common questions about my lessons and workshops. If your question is not listed, please feel free to contact me directly.

1. Are the lessons online or in person?
All my classes and workshops are delivered online via Teams (or a similar platform). This allows you to join from anywhere in the UK or abroad, with flexible schedules.

2. Which languages do you teach?
I currently offer Spanish and French at all levels. My main focus is helping students succeed in school exams (GCSE, A-Level, IB, and entrance exams), as well as offering lessons “for fun” for adults and younger learners.

3. What levels do you accept?
I teach all levels, from complete beginners to advanced students. Each lesson is personalised, whether you are:

  • Preparing for GCSE, A-Level, IB, or other exams
  • Starting from scratch for travel or personal interest
  • Improving fluency for business or everyday use

4. How long are the lessons and workshops?

  • Private lessons: usually 60 minutes
  • Workshops: between 1 and 2 hours depending on the topic

Lesson length can be adapted to your needs.

5. How do I book a class or workshop?
You can get in touch using the contact form or by email. Once we agree on a schedule, I will send you the payment details and the link to access the lesson online.

6. How do payments work?
Payments are made in advance via bank transfer, PayPal, or another agreed method. Prices vary depending on whether you book private lessons, pair lessons, or workshops.

7. What is your cancellation policy?
Please notify me at least 24 hours in advance if you need to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations (less than 24 hours’ notice) may be charged in full.

8. What materials or equipment do I need?
You will need:

  • A stable internet connection
  • A computer, tablet, or smartphone with camera and microphone
  • Headphones (recommended)
I provide digital materials such as PDFs, worksheets, and past papers.

9. What can I expect to achieve?
My lessons are designed to help you:

  • Improve fluency, accuracy, and confidence
  • Prepare effectively for exams using real past papers and mark schemes
  • Gain cultural knowledge through interactive activities and workshops
  • Enjoy the process of learning a language in a practical and motivating way

10. How will you know my level?
In the first lesson we will have a short conversation or assessment to identify your level and goals. From there I will design a learning plan tailored to your needs.

11. Are workshops suitable for beginners?
Yes! Some workshops are designed for all levels, while others are recommended for intermediate-advanced, GCSE, A-Level, or IB students. Each workshop description specifies the level so you can choose the right one.

12. Is my personal data safe?
Yes. I take your privacy seriously. I use secure platforms and handle your personal information according to my [Privacy Policy] and [Cookie Policy].

If you still have questions, please [contact me] and I will be happy to help.

13. What are standard lessons like?
Standard lessons are comprehensive and structured language classes. Each session introduces grammar and vocabulary in a communicative context, so the content feels practical and meaningful. Lessons usually include a mix of activities to practise the four key skills: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Corrections and feedback are integrated throughout to ensure steady progress.

14. What are conversational lessons like?
Conversational lessons focus on fluency and confidence in speaking and listening. A typical session includes 20–25 minutes of conversation plus 5–10 minutes of corrections, tips, and vocabulary feedback. These lessons are more informal and flexible: the teacher can suggest prompts (e.g., current events, cultural topics) or the student can bring their own ideas and interests.

15. What is a trial lesson?
I offer a free 30-minute trial lesson for new students. This session allows you to share your goals and interests, get a feel for how online lessons work, and ask any questions. It also gives me a chance to assess your level and recommend the best path forward.

16. Do I need to commit to a number of lessons?
No long-term commitment is required. You can pay as you go (before each lesson) or purchase lesson packs in advance at a discounted rate (e.g., 5 lessons with a 10% discount).

17. Do lesson packs expire?
No. If you purchase a lesson pack, you can schedule the lessons at your own pace, depending on availability.

18. I paid for lessons that I am not able to take. Can I have a refund?
Refunds are not available for prepaid lessons. However, lesson packs do not expire, and you may schedule your lessons at a later date whenever it suits you.
